Before his military service Ray had attended Weber State and worked at Hill Field in air craft repair and maintenance. He and a friend set up an auto repair shop in Benjamin until Ray began work as a delivery man for Cloverleaf Dairy in Utah County. By the time Ray and Fay had a son and a daughter they moved to Tooele, where he delivered milk to Dug-wa- y Proving Grounds. It was a challenging job and Fay remembers times when he would leave home at 4 am. and not return until 9 or 10 at night. His diligence and service were so much appreciated that he was honored at a party and acclaimed in a national military magazine. Later, Ray was made branch manager. During the 6 years spent in Tooele they had two more daughters. In 1959 they moved back to Payson and purchased the Cloverlead Distributorship. Years later, Ray purchased Roys Foodmart and it become Rays Food-ma- rt Ray prided himself on a clean store and friendly service and always said, "If you are going to do a job, do it right." He is the ultimate and has completely remodeled their home. Fay is also well known for her positions at First Security Bank, then as principals secretary at Payson Junior High and at Payson High. She wanted to work to get new carpet and retired after 22 years. Now retired, they both enjoy traveling, gardening, and most important of all, their family. The very best times are when all of them are home and enjoying each other. They make beds all over the house and have constant food assembly and towel laundry. With Dan in California, Melissa and family in Price, and Becky and family in Riverton, they are happy. Trina and her family still live in Payson. Their 13 grandchildren are the joy of their lives. They have loved raising their family in Payson and say that they feel there is no better place on earth. Some may be greener and some may be cooler in summer or warmer in winter....none is better. Those who know them feel that Ray and Fay love the Church and have been successful in living good, productive lives and have been a good influence upon our community.
