She is our most valuable player as well, says Weber State Womens basketball coach Jane Miner. She is absolutely one of the most fantastic women to play in this area. There is one thing we thank our lucky stars for, and that is that Kathy Miller plays for Weber and not someone else. It's easy to see why Coach Miner thanks her lucky stars after looking at Millers stats. Kathy racked up 704 points this year for an average of 28.2 points per game. She leads the conference in scoring with a 29.8 average and rates third in the Conference with a field-goa- l percentage LAYTON OGDEN 2 950 25th St. shooting she never misses. Kathy is the teams leading rebounder and is third in the Conference standings with a 13.9 average. She also leads the team in free-throshooting with a 79 percent mark. I think Kathys progressed a lot this year, says Coach Miner. Shes moving a lot more and doing a lot more inside, which is obvious in her rebounding. Shes playing with better players around her which helps her, although our offense is not oriented toward her. She gets those shots on her own. The best thing about her, continues Coach Miner, is that shes smart. She knows where to be and when to move. She has excellent game sense. She does a lot of things naturally that just cant be taught.
