Show 12 Page Thursday, December 19, 1963 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS CHURCH NEWS Mrs. Ellenora Judd was elected President of the Episcopal Church Women of St. Stephens at a meeting held the evening of Dec. 10 at the home of Mrs. Betty Crane. Mrs. Donna Pero was elected vice president and Mrs. Eva Daniels, secretary-treasure- r. After the elections, Mrs. June Bcless, State President of EYC, give a short talk. Mrs. Watson, wife of Bishop Watson (Episcopal Bishop of the Missionary District of Utah) also attended. The women exchanged Christmas gifts and had coffee and cookies. Members of the Episcopal Young Churchmen of St. Stephens elected new officers at their meeting Sunday evening. Assuming duties on Jan. 5 will be Richard Kittle, president; Jim Barkle, vice president; Helen Weber, secretary; and Jean Shelby, treasurer. The current officers will continue to preside over the remaining 1963 events, which will include a sleighing party on Dec. 27. The evening will get underway at 6:30 p.m, at Snow Pine Lodge at Alta with sleigh riding. A chili supper and dancing will follow in the lodge. St. Stephens will host the event, with other EYC groups invited. midnight Eucharist Service, beginning at 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 24 at the Granger Community Christian Church, 2600 W. 3800 South, will be open to all area residents. Special music will be presented by the combined choirs of St. Stephens Episcopal Mission and the Granger Church. The service will be offered by the Rev. Francis L. Winder of St. Stephens. A Christmas at St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Kearns will feature special services on Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. and a Festival Worship Service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Christmas Day). There will be special music at all services to be sung by the Chapel and Sanctuary Choirs. The Rev. Edward Hamme is pastor. The program on Monday, Dec. 23, will be the annual Christmas program of the Sunday Church School. The Christmas story will be portrayed in narration, song, and pageantry. Mrs. Marvin Dobson, director, will be assisted by a staff of seven. The time The children of St. Pauls will participate in a special Christmas program for the first time this year to provide a practical gift for children on the reservation. A Stocking and Mitten Tree will receive gifts of stockings and gloves this Sunday at the 10 a.m. service.' The gifts will be placed on the untrimmed Christmas tree by the children, and following the service the gifts will be shipped to the Rocky Boy Indian Mission at Box Elder, Montana. The congregation will also r Sub-for-Sant- a. Plans for Christmas at the Atonement Lutheran Church in Granger include a Christmas Eve Worship at 11 p.m. at the church. The program will consist mainly of singing familiar Christmas carols, meditation and prayer. The Rev. Joseph L.
