Show Thursday, December 15, 1960 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS Page 5 Foundation to Present Messiah Dec. 18 The past three months of rehearsals will come to an end for the soloists and chorus preparing for the Messiah to be given by the Fine Arts Foundation Sunday, December 18th at the Kearns Junior High School at 8 p.m. Alfred Schmidt; soprano, Jean Preston; contralto, Laura 'Shand; and tenor, Ronald Christensen. Alexander Shrinner will play the Baldwin The performance will be one of the free admission programs for the season. Tickets, although free, can be obtained at Decs, Valley Shopping Center and The Bank of Kearns. 200 voices Approximately will take part in the production costing over $1,000. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. David Shand, from the department of music at the University of Utah. Gilest artists are as follows: Bass, Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year A Organ and Sheldon Hyde the harpsichord. The trumpet solo will be by William Sullivan. Concert master is LaVar Krantz.
