Show Page 3 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS Thursday, December 10, 1959 Local Church News The Mens Fellowship of the Kearns Assembly of God will hold its annual Christmas banquet Friday, Dec. 11, in Salt Lake City. The men will invite their wives to attend. Special guest speaker at the banquet will be the Rev. Verne Creus from Denver, Colo. The monthly meeting of the teachers and officers of the Sunday School will be conducted Monday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., at the church, announced Rev. Anderson, pastor. St. Francis Mens Club to Sponsor Chili Dinner The Mens Club of St. Francis Catholic Church is sponsoring a chili dinner Sunday, from 8 p.m. at the Parish Hall. To feed the whole family, it will only cost you $2.50 or 75 cents for adults and 35 cents for children. Plan to attend and enjoy your Sunday dinner without having to do dishes after. The Xavier Club of St. Francis will meet Sunday, at 8 p.m,. at the Parish Hall. After a business meeting an informal dance will be held for all present. The Altar Society of St. Francis will meet Tuesday at 8 p.m. The meeting will start with rosary and benediction at the church. In place of a Christmas gift exchange the members will bring a present for a small baby to make a layette for Catholic Charities. 5-- I The Christmas party for the children of St. Francis Parish members will be an afternoon affair this year,, held in connection with the Catechism classes, on Saturday, tableaux will be presented. Open the brightest .gift package of 1959 . . PTA officers and school principal give articles that will be available at their next PTA meeting and bazaar a last minute going over. Granger Elementary States Bazaar The Granger Elementary PTA have slated Thursday, December 10th for their next meeting. The program will convene at the school at 7:30 p.m. Dr. David W. Miller, professor of history at the U of U will lecture and illustrate with coolred film about the American History course currently being given on TV. Mrs. Della Miller, wife of the professor, is presently one of the first-grad- e teachers at the Granger Elementary School. Following the meeting, the PTA are going to hold a Christmas gift bazaar, for those last minute gifts you may have forgotten. There will also be door prizes given away. All of the public is invited to attend the meeting.
