zation in Ogden After two years ittwas moved from its temporary location to a more permanent location where it is now MANY IMRROVEMENTS In 1925 the boundaries of this site were definitely settled by the city engineer and the council was assured of a permanent Girl Scout BY GIRLS AT SUMMERCAMP t out-of-do- or camp Each year definite improvements have been made The first contingents of campers had to “rough it but even then it was recognized that it is of far greater value to “smooth it” to secure the comfort and beauty that enhance recreational possibility In 1923 fifty iron cots were procured front the Ogden factory displacing the inconvenient method of on makeshift various sleeping “beds and later mattresses were acquired and tents rented to shelter the campers In 1925 a building project was started most of the labor and materials being donated by the Ogden citizens This house now consists of a large roomy dining room with a stone fireplace at one end and a big kitchen with a new stove installed last year UNIQUE WASH HOUSE 1929 the “submarine” a unique wash house with rows of benches ' and piped with hot and cold water were installed and a sanitary cooler for food new tent floors and new latrines were built One of the biggest improvements has been the piping of fresh water to the house for drinking and utilyear the swamps ity purposes-La- st east of the camp a breeding place of the pet mosquitoes were covered with oil A drainage system was also installed This year the county will repeat the act and in a year or so there will be little trouble f j r SCOUTSflEEDED work j 4:00— Library hour 4:30— Free play I BY U S Beautiful Camp Red Cliff iOgden Girl Scout camp in South8 Fork canyon will ooen officially for the Girl Scouts July 1 Transportation will be furnished for the girls The meeting place for all the girls going to camp will be at j the corner of the Central High school Wednesday at 1 o’clock sharp Thej camp will be open until July 29 The registration fee for camp is $4 with $1 to be paid it registration at the Girl Scout office in the Hotel Bigelow the other!
