Show NEW SALOON LAW at the meeting of 0 the city council last evening the question of saloons and intoxicating liquors came up lip in ili the form ot of in an amendment offered by the chairman of oc the committee on oil laws and ordinances to sees and chapter 12 of the revised ordinances of brigham city the amendment provided for the increasing of saloon license within the city from per year to per ear it also pio aided vided tor for the closing of all saloons pool and billiard halls and bowling alleys at 7 p in the amendment also made it unlawful for any one to give or sell liquor to any person niale male or fe female niale under the age of 0 21 years either cither in the saloon or outside of it no little warmth was generated in the discussion of the amendment as some of the councilmen took the stand that if the license was to be increased inci eased the saloon proprietors should be granted the pi iv liege or 0 keeping their places omen open until 9 at least provided the license was to remain the same as heretofore these members were willing to lote for the 7 p ill closing the amendment finally gassei passed by a tote of 3 for and 2 against and will go into effect july 1 1909 |
