Richajrds of the Council of the Twelve as follows: Big Horn Stake at Lovell, Wyoming, Elder Mark E. Petersen of the Council of the Twelve and Clyde C. Edmonds, Church Welfare. Alberta Stake at Cardston, Alberta, Canada, Elder Joseph F. Merrill of the Council bf the Twelve and Donald D. Davis, Church Welfare. St. Johns Stake at Eagar, Arizona, Elder Matthew Cowley of the Council of the Twelve and Sterling H. Boarcl Adds Two Members came this week from the' general presidency of the Y. W. M. L A. of the appointment of two new general board members and the release of one of the present members. Appointed were Lillian Austin Schwendiman and Alicebeth Whiteley both of Salt Lake City, and at her request Grace Nixon Stewart was released after nearly ten years of service. Both of the new members come to their positions with a wide variety of M. L A. experiences. Mrs. Schwendiman is at present first counselor in the Wells Stake presidency. She has served in the presidency of the Whittier Ward of that stake for eight years, and on the ward Gleaner and M Men committee for four years. She is -- also president of the Salt Lake City Lady Lions. - Mrs. Schwendiman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Austin, Mr. Austin being a member of the general Church Welfare Committee. They are form-- T erly of Rexburg, Idaho, and she attended the Ricks College. She is the wife of Fred W. Schwendiman, former bishop of the Whittier Ward, and at present a member of the Wells Stake high - council. The couple spent four years in the New Zealand Mission, leaving for that mission two weeks after they were married. A NNOUN CEMENT For the last ten months of their mission they were called to preside over the New Zealand Mission. They have three sons, Li Fred A., stationed at Clearfield, Utah; Lt. Kay A., at present in Kiusha, Japan; Staff Sgt. Mark A, now in Honolulu; and one daughter, Joan Schwendiman. Miss Whiteley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Earl Whiteley of Oakley, Idaho. Her father is the Cassia Stake clerk and her mother is a member of the stake Relief Society board. She has served in a number of M. I. A. capacities, and at one time was the Burley Stake Drama Director. At present she is a member of the Tabernacle Choir, and has been an instructor of business English, type, and office machines at the L. D. S. Business College'for the past four years. She is a graduate of the Brigham Young University where she was actfe in musical circles, and she has also attended the University of Idaho at Moscow, and the University of California at Berkeley. She filled a mission to the Eastern States where she was a member of the Ensign Chorus. Grace Nixon Stewart, who was released, was appointed to the board in May, 1936.
