At least two of the breakins were believed to be the work of the same thieves. Largest Lou The largest loss was reported by Golden Baxter, 1368 Wilson Ave., who reported burglars broke into the Baxter Foods Market, 4640 S. 17th East St., sometime between 9:15 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday, escaping with $654.83 in checks and cash and a $25 war bond., Entrance was gained by breaking a window on the north side of the store. The window was about eight feet above the ground, leading police to believe more than one man was involved. The meat market and grocery departments were thor oughly ransacked. 4 New Tire' A breath at the Wilbur and Watson Garage, 1661 W. 9th South, netted thieves four new tires valued at 680 and four cases of oil valued in excess of $22. Several hand fools also were reported taken. The thieves gained entrance through a window. Two years ago this firm was burglarized of more than $1,100 worth of tools and equipment. Double Take Thieves made a double take at the Royal Laundry, 625 S. State, and the Salt Lake Desk Exchange next door at 623 S. State. Thieves were believed to have entered the desk exchange through a shop window on an upper floor. After an unsuccessfull attempt to open a safe, they took $18 in cash from a desk drawer and left the establishment to enter the laundry through an upstairs window. An undisclosed amount of small change was taken from the laundry, where a desk drawer was pried open. at-le- :,.,:i.4,';',.-.,,- , , : 'is' ' , ,.
