Following his service In Washington, D C., as a representative of the provisional state, Dr. Bernhisel was chosen In 1851 as the new territorys delegate to Congress. He labored effectively in this position until 1859. His efforts were highly praised by President Brigham Young. He. was active again In. Washington in behalf of the territory in 1862 Dri Bernhisel died in Salt Lake City Sept 28, 1881, at the age of 82. , |
