Jenteal Jackson Staff Reporter the opportunities for substantial growth throughout my next two Senioritis might not be a term found in the dictionary, but its understood across campus. Senioritis is a state in which a senior student finds themselves years. What have you done to prepare for graduation and a job cfter college ? I have put in excessive amounts of efforts in building becoming incapable of starting or finishing their work. These students lose all productivity in this state. They lose their passion and drive to work hard and finish strong. The end seems so near and the tank so low, they do the bare minimum to get their de- relationships within the banking gree. So as students approach their senior year, how can this state be avoided? How do seniors stay ambitious and finish their educational experience strong? How do they decide what they are going to do after college and which route to take? How do they take life on? Brian Panter How did you overcome senioritis ? I became more involved in structuring my path outside of college. I focused on the realization that all of my college experience has accumulated together and that I would need to continue my efforts in finishing strong. I started working with people outside of the school to figure out my future, and in doing so I became more motivated because I knew these people would later look back on my performance. Without anyone else supporting me, I know my efforts would have started lacking. What is your major ? Im getting a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. I wish I wouldve double majored in finance and economics as well . though. What do you plan on doing after college ? I have secured a full-ti- me position with Goldman Sachs Investment Bank. I will start as an analyst and hopefully have community in Utah. I have had nt for two mentors, Residual Lending and Senior Vice President in Capital Markets, both for Zions Bank. Both individuals have helped structure a secure path for my future. It has helped so much to prepare for graduation and become ready for the corporate world. Vice-Preside- actly that. It kept me in check to I never thought I would be to this stage in life where I am graduating, Larsen said. Time flies, and before you know it you are here and making real-lif- e, adult dedsions. Its good to start thinking about future plans. Before students know it, they too will be in a cap and gown, accepting their diploma. Staying motivated and avoiding senioritis up to that point is essential About overcoming senioritis, Panter said, It helps a lot when youre not alone. jobs to get me into my desired field of work. get through the semester so that really would be the end. Many seniors felt they were ready and excited to move on, while others were sad it was over and werent sure what they were going to do. What have you done to prepare for graduation and a job after college? Well obviously I have taken care of getting a cap and gown and am looking to get announcements out. I tried to focus on the task at hand and not get too far ahead of myself. Ever since you can remember you are in school, and to be so close to the end is hard to keep your focus.
