From gourmet popsicles and soaps to salsa and pottery, this farmers market carries a wide variety of goods. in Previously located downtown Salt Lake City, the market is still thriving despite the weather and the lack of a bus route near their new location. The market was moved to Parleys Creek Pavilion in Sugar House Park. We have a joke that mother nature waits to rain until 4pm on Fridays, said market manager Rachel Sanders. Sanders is in charge of making sure the market runs smoothly, among many other things. I greatly enjoy the vendors, theyre wonderful, said Sanders. Theres a closer commu- nity feel at the Sugar House Farmers Market, she said. Ive even gotten to know some of the regular customers. House The Sugar Market is a great place for students to visit, said Jasmin Lillesve, a sophomore at the University of Utah. As a student I want to eat organic foods and not spend a ton of money. Its also nice knowing Im supporting the local economy, so I come to this farmers market fairly regularly, she said. Background music can be heard in the market, as browsers peruse the diverse and quality products that vendors bring from many different areas in Utah. From there, theyve built a group that has performed at many events on campus. We know that its not really a program thats hugely empha- sized at our school, so its something were trying to build, said Karina Sanchez, wee president of the dance team club. The dance team is an club for anyone interested in dance or cheer. The club is seeking to become an athletic team in the near future. Even though the team is a club, they are selective. ASWC has allowed us because of the potential of becoming an athletic team, Sanchez said. If you want to perform it just takes a lot more dedication. The Dolores Dore Eccles Health, Wellness and Athletic Center offers a wide variety of free group exercise classes. These classes are available for all students and gym members. Classes range from be- ginner to expert difficulty, so there are options for individuals of any fitness level. Monday through Saturday, these free classes are led by certified instructors from a wide variety of athletic backgrounds. From ' indoor cycling to Zumba, there are plenty of options to satisfy gym members. Some of the most popular classes include Zumba, indoor cycling, and yoga.
