Show TSUNAMI RESTAURANT AND SUSHI BAR MONDAY FRIDAY 1 1 :30 A.M.2P.M. MONDAY FRIDAY 5:30 P.M. 10 P.M. SATURDAY 11:30 A.M. 10 P.M. SUNDAY 5:30 P.M. 9:30 P.M. 2223 SOUTH HIGHLAND DR. WWW.TSUNAMIUTAH.COM For my second visit to T sunami, my roommate and I chose to eat at the sushi bar. Our sushi chef, Brian, was friendly and knowledgeable. Brain went from graphic design into culinary school. He works as a sushi chef because he views it as away to combine his two loves one for beauty, the other for food. , Tsuanmi flies in their fish fresh every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. From what I could see, they fish and Kobe beef in have some of the highest-qualit- y Salt Lake City, and Westminster students agree. Nick Parker, a Communication major, said, They have some of the best sushi in Salt Lake. We ordered the Samurai and the Tokyo Cowboy rolls. Brain crafted the beautiful rolls for us while creating friendly conversation with everyone at the bar. The Samurai has hamachi (yellowtail) and tobiko (flying fish eggs). The Tokyo featured Kobe beef and citrus flavored tobiko. Both the Samurai and Tokyo were beautiful to look at, even the pickled ginger and wasabi were beautiful. The Samurai was very mellow in flavor everything coming together very harmoniously, although it was good the flavors lacked depth. On the other hand, the Tokyo was a wonderful combination of spicy and sweet. This southwest inspired sushi roll is the best sushi Ive had at Tsunami. My roommate said, Life would be better if you could have sushi at least once a week. I definitely agree. The fresh and delicious flavors of Tsunamis sushi left me wanting more. For dessert we enjoyed tempura fried vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was delicious, but I prefer my ice in frosted flakes. The tempura just cream deep-frie- d doesnt quite work as well as I expected it to. Our total came to $25, not bad for sushi. Two restaurants in two days left my tummy full and happy, I didnt even miss steak and potatoes. Facebook Group Search "The Forum" in the Westminster Network. VOLUME XLIIr ISSUE 5 11 OCTOBER 21, 2008 |
