Middle: Justin McKinney was one of the many i volleyball tournament the next week; however that has not been finalized. This will conclude the semesters activities, because its now finals and students are overworked. ASWC has worked hard over the spring semester with many successful activities and also some not so successful. The overall level of support ASWC has received from the ASWC Student Activities Commission, Executive Cabinet and Senate was more than a lot to make all the events possible, organizers said. I was pleased with how the year went and Im hopeful that the activities made life more enjoyable for the students. Looking back at this years activities, a few activities stand out in my mind as highlights of the year, said Raymond Bradford, ASWC vice president. We were particularly happy with the way the Casino Night series turned out. It was a new event for ASWC and an expensive, effort to put on, and I think students really enjoyed it. I also liked the inclusion of more movie theater buyouts for blockbuster movie releases. Purchasing an entire theater for the opening night of Harry Potter and Narnia 1 Top: The in comedians who entertained the Griffins this past year. Bottom: The hypnotist had many volunteers under his spell and made the audience roar with laughter. Activities like these will return next year. i f 1 1 As for the worst activity of the year, ASWC thought that the Hard Rocking Johnsons concert in Rocktober was an original activity that rocked, but the brought out a wide variety of students to the event, including more commuters and non-trad- s than we typically draw at events.,. ! student turnout at the event definitely wasnt everything they expected. The overall Casino Night had a great turnout and will be in the works for next year. . Perhaps the Friday date was the mistake in our planning, or the marketing was not sufficient, but wed definitely love to bring them back because if you dont love 80s hair metal, you dont h deserve to live, said Bradford. The worst activity was the Halloween Dance. As you well know, that dance was a disaster, said Tyson Smith ASWC, activities coordinator, referring to the overcrowding that resulted in the hotel calling the police and ASWC ending the dance early. More events planned for next year are still in progress.
