We do this as a combined event with the ARWC also because it is such a large event and we can split the cost, said Alisha Pannunzio, the ASWC vice president. According to Anita Lui, director of clubs and organizations for the Associated Students of Westminster College, the dubs enrollment has increased significantly this year. Last year attendance and membership was low. This year, however, club functions have had significant turnout. Fat Cats will be shutting down to the public, which means Westminster students will have it all to themselves. Fat Cats is located near Westminster on 3739 South and 900 East If students actually want to bowl it is a good idea for them to go early because the lanes do fill up fast and it is a first-serv- e first-com- e, some students might even show up at 9:30 p.m. Pannunzio said. Students planning to bowl need to come early because this has been one of the biggest activities of the year. Lui attributes much of the dubs success to president Carla Valendas management According to Lui, Valencia is always enthusiastic about the . dub and upcoming events. As president, she is dedicated to the success of the dub. Along with the recent guest lecture, the Spanish Club has hosted a celebration of the Day of the Dead, a holiday that celebrates and remembers loved ones, in which the dub served Day of the Dead bread and hot chocolate. Two days prior, ' members of the dub built a traditional altar for the event. Lui believes the Spanish Qub plays a vital role in the college community. The Spanish Qub represents a growing culture and shows that the campus is aware of diversity. It is important to embrace other cultures, said Lui. According to Lui, the Spanish culture is growing. Through activities and memberships in the Spanish Club, other campuses will see Westminsters leadership.
