Show THE FORUM 8 Zinn Art Continued from pg. Continued from pg. 1 3 Using instances like the war in Iraq, Zinn posed a larger question about the state of our country, Do we want to be seen as the bully of the statement. Not only do I see the human figure as graceful but I see the separate parts, such as a hand or a foot, as world? being just as graceful as the need to do something to turn this country around, he said. We have the ability to be a humanitarian superpowWe figure as a whole. Alternate and Delicate Record are two of Wimmers drawings that focus on the foot. It is this perception that has made me aware of feet and how they are disregarded as the useful tool they are... exploring the foot as both graceful by itself and useful for more than its normal task. Margarita Ericksen was the only student who submitted pottery into the exhibit. Her works included, Bones, Blood Red, Nature, Tea Set, Sky Vessel and Fire er. Audience members were given the chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation. Questions covered topics such as Ralph Naders presidential campaign, weapons of mass destruction and the likeness between Vietnam and the current situation in Iraq. He offered some important insights to the events that surround us today and said, if you dont know any history, its as if you were born yesterday. OJ Vessel. Glidden said the world outside expects students to have a wide range of knowledge and experience in more than one area. Currently, a few Westminster art alumni students are working at galleries We p or in some type of art administration. But Glidden said most graduates take time after graduating to create a larger portfolio. This is why many students take time to travel and, as Glidden said, to experience life. Glidden said most art students who are interested in graduate school do not imme- 30-3- diately apply. Fine Arts graduate schools tend to look at older students who have taken time after graduating to build up their portfolio.
