Approximately 1,000 girls from prep schools throughout the state were on hand to compete for individual and team honors. Carbon High was represented by four girls who had qualified for the state meet through the Region Six meet held earlier in Payson. The Dinos, under the direction of Mrs. Charlene Dupin, placed in two events at Skyline, Lynna Tone taking third place in the high jump ancTRaTHy Smith had a sixth place in the dash. Sandra Hoggat also competed in the dash and Blanche Wilson ran in the 880 for the Dinos. Miss Tone had a leap of 410 as her best effort of the day while the winning mark for the event was 51.
