Whats happening? The Castle Valley Gem Societys annual Gemboree- - Thats what. Doors will be open from 12 noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The combined years of collecting by members of the club will total several hundred prize, made by a member of the local club, will be given away each hour throughout the entire show. One of the things of special interest this year will be a demonstration of making arrowheads from obsidian by Roy Anderson from Bountiful, Utah. Dealers in minerals, jewelry making equipment, and various rocks, types of mountings will have their wares displayed and for sale. These dealers come from all over the western United States. Malysicak, o who retired from the Museum of Lapidary Art of Elmhurst, Illinois, will be on hand to visit with those in attendance and answer questions. He will have displayed his work with Iris agate. He will also have a display of the various kinds of stones, arranged so that you can learn to identify them.
