Freitas has been named project officer for an open house scheduled at White Sands Missile Range July 12, command officials announced this week. Planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the open house will be in observance of the US Armys 200th anniversary and the missile ranges 30th anniversary. The main post will be open to the public that day for the first time in two years. The program will include displays of missiles and other items of defense hardware including instruments and handling equipment, tours of the main post area, special exhibits, briefings cerning operation con- of equipment and a continuous showing of motion picture films in the post theater. BEESLEY An Army band from Ft. Bliss, TX, is expected to participate. Most of the posts public facilities will be open for business. For economy reasons, no missile firings or other active demonstrations will be scheduled. Major Freitas announced that die first meeting of the planning committee for the open house will held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 m the Countdown Service Club.
