Show Hanksville Investigations are still underway into finding the party or parties who the Lowdermilk equipment on the road project at Fry Canyon over the weekend. The construction company has been building the portion of 5 to complete the entire section from Hanksville to Blanding. Other substances such as turpentine, and sand were also found in the fuel tanks of the heavy equipment. Southern Utah State College at Cedar City sponsored Vocational Day, April 24th. Taking part from Hanksville, was Rita Ann Ekker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ekker. She was awarded a blue ribbon on an original levi, bean bag chair,' and a blue ribbon on embroidered throw pillows, and red ribbons on embroidered tennis shoes and sugared U-9- western embroidered jackets. Mrs. David Robb, Calgary, Alberta Canada, and Mrs. Dorothy Muscle, Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada were guests of the Hanksville Relief Society and presented the program on their country. The ladies also prepared tarts for with a refreshments Canadian flag on each as a favor for each lady. These ladies were visiting Mrs. Robbs family, daughter Mrs. and Bruce (Dorothy) Nelson, in Green and were accompanied here by Mrs. Homer Nelson, also of Green River. Mrs. Robb and Mrs. Muscle sang songs in French and showed slides of their country. Other guests in attendance were Wayne Stake Relief Society officers, Mrs. DeLaine Chappell, Mrs. Lynda Chappell, and Mrs. Rula Turner all of Lyman. Each month Mrs. Nell Ekker presents the history and background of a country in the world and each River well is presentation researched and delivered. Tom Campbell received word that he is being transferred to Fargo, North Dakota in connection with his work with the FAA. Prior to the familys departure in early June, Tom will attend classes in 'Oklahoma.
