However, she had to leave the family while at summer to school, complete residence on compus. Kayla went to school at night, taking continuing education classes from USU. Last winter she drove weekly to Castle Dale to take a required mathematics class. Also, e she enrolled as student at CEU, taking advantage of the local college, to fill requirements full-tim- in her field. Before starting evening classes, Mrs. Hanna who with enjoys working youngsters, was second counselor in Helper MIA. she Previously in earned several State Fair blue ribbons in sewing and cooking; she was appointed to Girls State in High School and excelled in music. 4-- H Mr. Hanna, their son, Shane, and Kayla's mother and sister, Chloe Merrill, attended baccalaureate exercises Friday night which were addressed by Boyd K. Packer; the graduation morning ceremony Saturday, when Henry Eyring, U. of U. chemistry professor, was speaker; and the concluding luncheon Saturday. -j- h- Naomi Chapter 13, Order of Eastern Star, held the annual birthday party at the Masonic Temple June 8. Festivities included a delicious buffet dinner, a social hour and drawing for an afghan, which was won by Mrs. Gladys Voll. A regular meeting followed the entertainment, and this will conclude meetings until September. The committee in charge of the event was headed by Hazel Stimac, and com- prised of Arvetta Sat- terfield, Edith Gentry, Nora Ruth Sealey, ONeal, Georgia Halpine, Ethelyn Clements and Sophie Poglajen. The visit of Lester Boyack, his wife and two little sons from San Jose, California to see his mother, Georgene Goodall and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pace Boyack, Spring Glen, prompted a family dinner Sunday. Mrs. Goodall entertained the Boyacks and their sons and families and the John Westerskow family of Price. Also joining the family were Mrs. Goodalls brother and wife, Robert and Marie Chubbuck. The visitors will leave after a week in this vicinity for Oregon to visit Mrs. red-head- folks Boyacks before returning to California.
