American Fork, undefeated in Region Six play this year, will carry the other half of the region hopes in the state playoffs. The Forkers take on Davis in tne other semi-fina- l, also this week. The championship game is slated for BYU stadium next week. In winning from Carbon last week, Pleasant Grove had to overcome a very stubborn Dino defensive unit that gave ground in the mid-fiel- d areas, but stiffened in the shadows of their own goal posts. The visitors rolled for 11 first downs in the first half but had only three points on the scoreboard at the intermission to show for their offensive efforts. Three times the Dino defensive squad stopped the Viking surge forcing Pleasant Grove to go for the field goal on fourth down. 14-1- 3--A Kicker Bob Lott was unsuccessful from the line in the first quarter; made good on the second one from the line in the second period, and missed again from the line on the last play of the first half. rd d Carbons offensive game in the first half was ineffective, picking up only one first down Directs Badgers nab illegal game hunters A 0 rd spot. worked with Ken Woodruff, Kim Tomsic and Brian Brockbank in the back-fiel- d and senior Nate Ellington on a split end position.
