Show Cub Scouts f, May 6, 1971 Price, Utah 3 -Advocate, present 'vaudeville7 280, -- Cub Scouts, held their Vaudeville Pack meeting WELLINGTON Pack IT recently at the LDS Church recreation hall. Neighbors and friends were invited to attend. The group was welcomed by Clifford A. Palmer, cubmaster. The program was as follows: Presentation of colors by Webelos. Group singing led by Ervin Erickson, accompanied by Mrs. Della Thayn. Reading What by Von Johnston. Scouting Means to One Boy. Song by Den 1, Ronnie Johnston, Micheal DeVaney, Chan Snyder and Bart Norton, accompanied by Mrs. Della Thayn. Stories and jokes by Den n, Bruce Thayn, Boyd Moseman, Todd Bettino, Chris Atwood, Mark Tahyn and Dean Hadden. Science demonstrations were given by Webelos: Lance Moon, removing oxygen from a bottle; Eddy Linn, carbon dioxide (Co2) from vinegar, water and baking soda, and displacement of coffee grounds; Rodney Pierce and Rocky The Law of Ritter, floating an egg on salt water; Ross Bryner, Pascals Law hydraulic pressure; Lonnie DeVaney, Den Chief, reflections (optical illusions). Awards were presented as follows: Den I; Bart Norton, Silver Micheal Arrow; DeVaney, Gold and Silver Arrow; Ronnie Johnston Bear and Gold Arrow, Badge presented by Den Mother Mrs. Lorraine Johnston. Den II: Boyd Moseman, Bob Cat Badge; Bruce Thayn, Wolf Badge and Gold Arrow; Todd Bettino, Gold and Silver Arrow; Mark Thayn, Gold Arrow and Special Plaque as he leaves Den II, presented by Den Mother Mrs. Joan Bettino. Mrs. Grace Johansen is renowned for turning out winners in the drama line. Camille Stilson won the best actress honors for her role in a one-aplay which also included Roger Barton and Debbie Cox. Camille was awarded a tuition scholarship for one semester to the BYU. ' CORNIM PINEAPPIE mm trophy, Micheal DeVaney and his grandfather, Ervin Erickson won the second place trophy, Chan Snyder and his father, William Snyder, won the third place trophy. Mark Thayn was welcomed into the Webelo Den by Mr. Johnston and the Webelo Scouts. The Pinewood Derby race was held. This is a father-so- n project. Mark Thayn and his father, A. Leon Thayn, won the first place drama tourney - There will be at least ONE Winner at all Thrif-- Markets Aquanaut and Outdoorsman Badges; Rocky Ritter, Aquanaut and Engineer Badges; Emery captures first in state m 13- lb. 1 ct Other participants and ratings included superior to Christie Hansen, cxcellents to Sanny Oveson and Jenine Oviatt in dramatic reading; superior to Colleen Stilson and excellent to Dale Luke in Mono Act; superiors to Jolin Funk and Kim Powell, excellent to Garth Johnson in humorous readings; superiors to Jane Hansen and Barbara Wilson in retold story; excellents to Sue Hardy, Susan Bear and good ratings to James Wells, Carrie Jean Wilcox, Rusty Ganino and Jerry Oviatt in the pantomimes. The one act play, "The Ivesson was rated excellent. Emery high took state Class B drama last year in addition to carrying off top honors in the preceding regional meets.
