Show ' speech director Honored by national Forensic society CEU , Forensics director and debate coach at the College of Eastern Utah, Neil Warren, was presented an outstanding service award and plaque by Phi Rho Pi, the national forensic society for junior colleges, at its recent national convention and speech tournament in Phoenix. American Legion $25 bonds were presented to Lenore Jensen and Doug Swinburne at the North Emery Junior High graduatior Friday evening. Student body officers for next year are Joy Lynn Clegg, president; Wade Jensen, vice president; Claudia Collard, secretary; Jim LeRoy, Cauleen Hansen and Ruth Ann Guymon, social committee; Sonny Oveson, cheerleader. American Legion Auxiliary essay medals were presented to Dawn Leamaster and representative of the school am community. From this list the boys are selected for scholarship activity leadership, community with sons of Legionnaires being awarded extra points. The number cf boys that a Post can send to Boys State is based on the number of members in the Post. Civic clubs and other organizations in the community contribute funds to the American Legion to make this program possible. The boys at Boys State elect all city, county and state officers and also two boys to Boys Nation to represent Utah in Washington later in the year. This program continues to grow and is an extremely worthwhile project, according to Dr. Robert D. Milano, this years Boys State chairman. The following boys have been elected by Price Post No. 3 of e American Legion to attend leys State from June 8 to 14 at Utah State University; Dave Donaldson, Robert Hall, Frank Platt, iordon Odendahl, Steven Cowley, 4ike King, Jimmy Moreno, Mark car, Robert Thomas, Ricky Trompel, Steve Holding, Kim Spigarelli, Orlo Harmon, Jimmy Shorts, all from Carbon High, and Sam Falsone from Notre Dame.
