Price Business Women Seat New Officers The Business and Professional Women's Club of Price installed new officers at a dinner meeting at the Country Club May 12. Frances Davis conducted the impressive ceremony, assisted by Nora Hatsis. Eugenie Gross o and Severina Grosso provided the spring table decorations of pink and yellow carnations. New officers are Clarissa Benjamin. president: Julia Kelly, vice president: Lena Gilbert, recording secretary; Arlene Doss, corresponding secretary and Emma had presented her gavel to the new president, LaVema Wall presented her with the past president's pin and a gift as a token of affection for her splendid work. Mrs. Snyder has held a perfect club attendance since her affiliation in 1959. She then presented other gifts for perfect attendance for the current year to Snyder under the chair manship of Audry Culp and Vaughn Allred, featured Clara Thompson, Calvin Jewkej, Frank Sjuircieh, Dick latndford and Hel en IVnko, to the theme Lilac Time" and those present enjoyed many songs and Instrumentals rendered by the group. A short business meeting was held at which it was rejiorted that the ladies had chosen to sponsor Mis Peggy Self at the coming Girls' State. Mrs. Donna Dupin ami Mrs. Gienna Hansen were selected as representatives in the State Association of IjhIics of Elks, and the group agreed to buy a duplicating machine as their gift to tiie lodge for the past year. Reports were made by all officers and committees and the books were closed. New officers were Installed In an impressive ceremony, with Mrs. Vaughn Allred as installing officer assisted by Mrs. Gienna Hansen, Mrs. Rae Wright and Mrs. Leah Cowan. Standing in for President Thca Olsen who was on a trip to Germany, was Marie Swasey. Other officers installed were: Cheri Beacco, vice president; Margaret Drossos, secretary; Doris Gailbreath, treasurer; Fosca Polonl, historian and reporter; Kay Talerico, auditor, and Bessie Mower, parliamentarian. Tea was served from a beautifully appointed table with Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Margaret Tur-cass- o pouring. Refreshments consisted of finger pies, ribbon sandwiches, finger puffs, individual angel food cakes, nuts, mints, candy sticks, punch and coffee. Ladies who served on this committee w'ere Audrey Culp, chairman; Vaughn Allred, Minnie Olsen, Edna Rizzuto, Jerry Slaperas, Leah Warren, Nellie Witten, Rosina Siaperas, Agnes Thompson, Clara Thompson, Clea Sumner, Katherine Pero and Margaret Turcasso. Left to right are Bessie Staley, first vice presklent; Bessie Bonto, presklcnt; Rena Knudsen, second vice president; Euphae Davis, ed Carbon Art League Exhibit Opens Friday in City Hall The fourteenth annual art exhibit of Carbon Art League, under direction of Rena Knudsen, president, Clayton Worthen, secretary, and Lois Fossat. vice president, will open May 29, and run until June 12, with 40 paintings of local ' scenery and other subjects on view in the large upper hall of the Price Municipal building. Exhibit chairman is Lois Fossat. This opening ties In with the opening of the Carbon College Prehistoric Museum and the annual Gem Society rock show. The club has painted a large mural and case plaques for the museum. A new feature of the exhibit will be an invitation to the public to cast votes for those which are most appealing. Another highlight will be a welded sculpture by Fred Voll, which he has titled as it indicates two "Fighting, dinosaurs in fighting stance. Arrangements for the tea were made by Lois Fossat, Vernell Worthen and Marguerite Degn. They used an effective gold and green color scheme. A program began with a reading by Mrs. Degn, "Tribute to a Daughter. This was followed by a reading by Lianne Fossat, and a piano solo by Marilyn Mabbutt. The double trio from the Singing Mothers of First Ward sang two songs. Corsages were presented to Sophia Critchlow as the youngest Service Star Legion Plans State Convention grandmother present; to Mrs. Mildred Cave as the youngest mothThe June meeting of Service Star Legion will be held next er; and to Mrs. Ida Thomas and Monday at the home of Mrs. Reta Mrs. Crystal Guymon, the oldest Patterick at 1:30. Gold Star Mothers Honored At Dinner May 19 NIEW.IWILORI IMG MOm 33 Star Mothers The nine Gold who reside in Price were delightfully honored at dinner ,on May 19 at the home of their hostess, Mrs. John Ruggeri, who is the state Gold Star Mothers chairman of the Service Star Legion. Dinner was served at a table beautifully arranged with a centerpiece of gold ribbon flowers. Favors for the nine will be given to them later, and will be copies of photos taken while they were meeting at the Ruggeri home. The American flag and the Gold Star flag were displayed in memory of the sacrifice of these mothers and their sons. The guests and their hostess enjoyed their afternoon.
