Sergeant Compagni received instruction in the principles of unit leadership. Regularly assigned as a platoon sergeant in Company B of the 37th Armor in Crailsheim, Germany, Compagni entered the Army in 1947 and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana, before arriving in Europe last January. The soldier was employed by the Kaiser Steel Company at Sunny-sid- e in civilian life. His wife, Anna, is with him in Germany.
