Show Page Two THE SUN-ADVOCA- Thursday, April 12, 1950 SOCIETY and CLUB NOTES COUPLE MARRIED IN HOME CEREMONY A quiet home ceremony performed by Bishop Monte Snow in the presence of close friends and family members united Miss Lynn Anderson and Clint E. Powell in marriage Thursday, April 5. The rites were held at 10 a.m. at the home of the brides parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gale Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Powell are the parents of the bridegroom The bridal couple stood on a white rug to exchange vows in the double-rin- g A large ceremony. bouquet of pink, orchid and white gladioli, crysanthemums and snap- -' dragons was placed nearby. A centerpiece of orchid crysanthemums and pink and white carnations tied with white and orchid ribbons was placed on a table which also held d white candles and a beautiful cake decoration with wedding bells, roses and love birds and topped with a tiny vase of sweetheart roses. Three ceramic dolls holding the miniature roses placed near the cake added to the beauty of the arrangement. A gown in off white nylon and cotton basket weave was worn by the charming blonde bride. The dress was fashioned with a tight fitting hip length bodice flaring into a full skirt. Short cap sleeves and pleated grosgrain trimming at the neck. A shoulder length veil was held by a small hat and the bride carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations centered with sweetheart roses tied with white ribbon. Karen Anderson attended her sister as maid of honor dressed in an orchid dress of shark sail. She wore a corsage like the brides bouquet. Clifford Brady stood as best man. Mrs. Powell wore an aqua blue sheath style dress for the occasion and Mrs. Anderson chose a blue street length dress of nylon and cotton trimmed in white. Hartley Manners was read by Elaine Erickson as a special treat for members and guests of Literary League Monday evening, April 9. Miss Erickson is a senior majoring in speech at BYU and brought such a heart warming authenticity to her character portrayals that those listening could imagine the whole thing acted out before them. Music was furnished by Deane Instead of the usual pot luck, a regular dinner will be served at the birthday party for the Women of the Moose Friday night, April 13. Those whose birthdays will be honored on this occasion are Ellen Livingston, Annie Kate Wilson, Cherril Marx, Jennie Leonard, Mary Druce, lone Mari-non- furnish the refreshments and the program. Friendship members should keep the date May 6 and the conference in Provo in mind. The Moose bowling teams motored to Grand Junction Saturday, April 7. They bowled Saturday and Sunday, being entertained at a dance Saturday night and a luncheon Sunday by the Grand Junction Moose Lodge.
