The city some years ago, deeded to Carbon county a site sufficient just north of the municipal swimming pool for this purpose. As the city continued to grow, the present administration now considers this action a mistake, and would like to have the land back for recreational purposes and to make a component addition to the citys future needs. Much study has been made on building the structure on the present corner where the old courthouse stands. This sems to pose impossible problems, at least so we are told. Several other sites have been considered, but land costs appear to be exhorbitant with the countys ability to pay. There is no doubt that the courthouse corner would provide and excellent bit of real estate for business purposes. It would also than last year. The biggest single killer of children aged one to fourteen years in this country is motor vehicle accidents. With more children going back to school this fall than ever before, and more bicycles on the road, the greatest precautions must be taken by drivers, especially in school zones, near playgrounds and in residential areas. Children being impulsive and often careless, it is up to the adult driver to assume most of the responsibility. A child on a bicycle should be a danger signal for the motorist to slow down, and drive with even more care. BLACK BREAD INSTEAD OF CAKE o SPOTS o S-- S E.
