Mitchell Mummies Set Two-Da- y Reunion Here August 20 and 21 will be highlights in the lives of girls who have in the past been members of Mitchells Mummies softball team and for those who are currently seeing competition with this allgirl organization. On those days the Mitchell Mummies will stage their first annual reunion with the 1955 team and R. T. Mitchell, sponsor, as the hosts. On the first day at 8:30 p.m., the 1955 Mummies will play a team yet to be selected at the city ball park and all former Mitchell players are invited to attend as guests. The following day at 2 p.m. a reunion banquet will honor all the players. This will be held in the Towne Cafe. The Mummies were first organized in Carbon and Emery counties by Mr. Mitchell in 1949 to fill a need for some kind of recreational activity for these young girls. At that time Mr. Mitchell, enthused by the insistence from prospective players, found competition for his team both locallly and in other sections of the state and at Grani Junction, Colorado. As the years went by, the Mummies continued as enthusiastic as ever but local competition fell off and it was necessary to arrange almost all games with outside teams. In spite of this handicap, the Mummies have continued to flourish each year and have gained an enviable reputation in Utah girls softball circles as good players and what is more important, as good sportsmen. During the years, the Mummies have entered competition against mens teams in order to keep up with their game a situation that arose through challenges as well as the lack of girl teams for com- THURSDAY na Woodruff, Margie Aubert, Betty Stringham, George Ageropolis, coach.
