Over one hundred and fifty parents, friends and Boy Scouts were in attendance. They witnessed ceremonies which saw over fifty Boy Scouts receive their awards. FJlas Degn, Price Boy Scout commissioner, received the Eagle badge, one of the highest awards in scouting. Three scouters De d loy Anderson, Price, Lavar and Clyde Rock, Dragerton, received Life awards. Six scouts received the Star rank including Robert Davido, Howard Peterson, Larry Cox, W. V. Keele, Dragerton; Jack Benson, Sunnysidc, and Larry Gononsky, Price. Willis Smith, Edward Black and Ronald Anderson received their First Class badges while Lavar Liddiard received the awards for physical fitness, vocational skill and the Bronze award. Scouts who were elevated to the second class were Gary Morley, Alan Titts, Dennis Greener, Frank Lauriski, Gordon Chldester, Blain Peterson, Jack House, Arthur Guy-moRichard Bryner, Robert Dem man and Philip Balping. The following scouters from the Carbon District were in atten dance: Douglas Bon, district vice chairman; Merrion Wilson, Robert Parker, Clyde Rock, Alvin Wallace, Elias Degn, all neighborhood scout commissioners, and Frank Breinholt, Ray Black, Deloy An derson, Lavar Liddiard, V, Keele, Ned Arambula and Dan Porter, scoutmasters of the district. The Court of Honor .was proclaimed as one of the largest held in the district. There were a tota of 126 merit badges awarded anc a special award went to Larry Samples of Price for his Boy Scout training which enabled him to save the life of a youngster whose clothes had caught on fire while he was playing with a can of gasoline. The medal was awarded to the rescuer by Alvin Wallace, first aid counselor of Price. Ray Warlaw received an award for participation in the recent camporee where he won first place with his flint and steel in a contest with scouts from all over the district. Ned Arambulas Troop 291 a troop charter. This is the only troop in Carbon county to receive a 100 per cent Boys Life Banner. The troop also received a blue ribbon for having its entire membership registered on time.
