Show Thursday, September 25, 1952 THE rAe Commission Sets Dates For Upland Bird Hunts Utah scattergunners Monday were awarded a day season on pheasants and quail through official action of the Utah Fish and Game Commission. IMeeting in regular fall session, the commission set the opening at noon, Saturday, November 8, and the closing at 5:30 p.m., the following Tuesday which happens to be Armistice Day. The fact that November 11 happens to be a holiday prompted the commission to give gunners the added day afield. Heres the day and hour schedule: Saturday, November 8, noon until 5:30 pun. Sunday, November 9, 7:30 am. until 5:30 pun. Monday, November 10, 7:30 a. m. until 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 7:30 a. m. until 5:30 p.m. Bag limit was set at three cock birds. Possession limit is six cock birds, all counties in the state will be opening to shooting. The quail season was set for the same dates and hours with seven counties to be opened. They are Morgan, Salt Lake, Summit, Uintah, Utah, Washington and Wayne. Bag limit on -- quail was set at eight, birds. Possession limit will be 16. One exception to the quail season is in Washington county where three additional days of three-and-a-h- ali , shooting will be allowed November 29 through December 1. A commission spokesman said a majority of recommendations from wardens and sportsmens clubs revealed the state has had a good hatch of upland birds this year. The commission also set up the fall .trapping proclamation, ruling that muskrats may be taken from October 16 through November 30. All of the state will be open.
