When the Korean conflict began in July of 1950, they thought their situation over and agreed to go into the service of their country. The brothers joined the U. S. navy on August 22, 1950. They selected aviation specialty ratings and now they view the earth from well above in contrast to their civilian occupations. Reid, 22, and Del, nearly 21, were recently promoted to the ratings of aviation machinists third class. They are assigned to Air Transport Squadron Five stationed at Naval Air Station, Moffett Field, California, near San Francisco. Air Transport Squadron Five is a unit of the fleet logistic air wing, Pacific, and operates throughout the Pacific area in direct support to the Pacific fleet units wherever and whenever necessary. As efficient mechbrothers anics, the Leamaster make their contribution to the squadron, the navy and the United Nations efforts in Korea. When the work they do is done well they speed up the complete A. operation. They are members of a great team. These men learned teamwork early in life; at home as children, in school while playing basketball and in the mines. Both brothers graduated from North Emery high school, Reid in 1948 and Del in 1949. While in high school, Reid was on the 1948 team that finished basketball fourth in the state and both Reid and Del were members of the baseball championship team of that same year. In the family mine, the Leamaster Coal Company, operated by their uncle, Vernon Leamaster, the brothers learned teamwork in an occupation. Now they work as a team toward the good of their country and mankind. After graduating from North Emery high school, Reid attended Carbon junior college majoring in mining engineering and be intends to continue his studies if he does not make a career of the navy. Del is undecided about the future but 'both are doing a good job at the present. Both agree on one thing wholeheartedly; that their mother, Mrs. Marie Leamaster, deserves a great deal of credit for teaching them the basic rules of teamwork. at-ar- DEALER!
