The 1949 issues contained 66 pages more than those of 1948 which up to that time had been a record for this publication. The 1948 average was 18 68 pages per issue or a total of 988 pages. The growth of the newspaper has kept stride with the growth of the city and its subsequent increased news coverage and advertising messages from the merchants of the city and national companies.
