Expressing complete satisfaction with the excellent relationship which exists between the union and the power company management, Mr. Nichols explained that union wages have increased an average of 82.6 per cent since 1940. This is substantially above the rise in the cost of living as reflected by the National Bureau of Labor Statistics for the period, he said. The electric utility industry provides one of the most essential services in the community, Mr. Nichols declared, and the people served by the Utah Power and Light company are fortunate in being served by an institution whose management-unio- n relations are such as to guarantee uninterrupted service.
