On May 11 an agreement was reached between operators and miners, and was approved by the operators on May 18. The petitioners asserted that the Utah Fuel company started to repair its tipple and do other construction work between May 4 and 18 and that the portion of the mine in which operations were being carried on was practically worked out. Therefore, they argued, the company was not in a position to mine coal and did not have work for the petitioners. From this, it was reasoned, that stoppage was not due to a strike. After the company was notified (of the suspension of operations) and the men left work, the court said, "it matters not what the company did at its mine until the dispute was settled and the strike was over. There is no evidence that the company caused the stoppage of w'ork . . . . The strike caused the stoppage. Cereal Sale Pc. Flour A-- l A-- l C. Meal jnJ V A-- l A-- l Watch For Shelf Price?
