Cory Mellor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Mellor, graduated from 4 years of Seminary on May 23 1990, from high school on May 25. He celebrated his 18 birthday on May 26, and was ordained an elder in the LDS Church Sunday, May 27, by his father. Cory will leave for Fort Sill, June 7, for 7 weeks for his AIT Training with the national guard. Brett Stewart, graduated from high school May 22. Relatives and friends attending included Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stewart, and Brett's mother, JoAnn Symmes, and friends, all of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Avery, of Fayette. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Mellor and Mr and Mrs. Harold Curtis visited Saturday and Sunday in St. George with their children Glade and Irene Curtis. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Curtis were overnight guests at the home of the Mellors. Visiting Mrs. Izola Bartholomew during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hatch, Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Wilardson, Tooele, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bartholomew American Fork, Virginia Gay and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gay, of Payson. Wednesday Mrs. Fern Mellor attended graduation exercises in Ephraim in honor of two of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Larsen's children. Thursday, Fern and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bartholomew, of Salem, visited in Monroe. Visiting with Fern during the weekend were Patrice Willey, a student at Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Turner, Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Mellor, Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Mellor, Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Baker, and children of Springvile, Mrs. Virgil Hammond and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Unsworth, both of Salt Lake; Donald and Iva Olsen, and Mrs. Barbara Mickelsen, of Redmond. The family of the late William and Ozenda Mellor held their family reunion May 28, in the recreational hall, with a program and lunch and visited and had 55 attending. We would like to hear of weddings, visits, special events, parties, club meetings, town news, and all the other interesting news Obituaries Our kind and loving daughter, Melonie sister, granddaughter Michelle Bastian Anderson, age 18, died May 27, 1990 at her home in Richfield after a brief illness. She was bom September 19, 1971 in Gunnison, daughter of Micheal Leo and Marlene Member of the LDS Church. She graduated from Richfield High School, May 24, 1990. She had received a scholarship to Dixie College in St. George and had been attending Dixie College for the last quarter. She was an honor student and a very dedicated worker. She worked for her father at Anderson Floral in Richfield and she also worked as a waitress at J.B.s in Richfield and at the Shed REstaurant in St. George. She was a very loving person and will be deeply missed. Jean Johnson has just returned from spending a few days in Salt Lake City tending the children of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Nelson while they were away on business. Duaine and Roene Shaw and daughters traveled to Fredonia, AZ to attend the graduation of her brother. Jennifer Johnson has been in Wyoming over the Memorial Day working for Bums racing stables. LeAnn Pickett and children were in Salt Lake City over the weekend to visit with her relatives and to visit Glen who is working at the Draper Correction Facility. Keith and Patsy Hampton and family were in Wayne COunty to spend Memorial day with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Oyler paid a short visit to the Gordon Johnson home Saturday. They brought word that Tammys sister, Leslie Christensen is in the hospital with a blood clot. Visiting the Paul Willardsons this holiday have been Mr. and Mrs. Michael Willardson and family, and Debra W illardson. Kevin and Nancy Hampton have been visiting in Bear lake. Visiting at the UDell Johnson home this weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hansen and family, and Jody Johnson. Sunday the Johnsons, the John Johnsons, and the Norman Jensens, celebrated the birthday of Gunna Hansen. Sunday Ella Lee Lund was released as Visiting Supervisor, and Phyllis Jensen was released as leader. Last weekend Mary and Whitney Christensen attended the wedding and reception of their granddaughter Annette, and Brent Kay. The wedding and reception was held at Silver Crest Reception Center, Sandy. Boyd Christensen also attended Annette is the youngest daughter of Paul and Pauline Christensen. Kany Bogb McKinzie Miller received the Hope of America award and the Presidents Academic Achievement Fitness Award in an assembly held May 23 at Enoch Elementary. The Hope of America was awarded to 4 students out of 100, and the Presidents Award was given to 14 students from Enoch. This award was for scoring 80 or higher on state an national level testing in grades 3 to 5. She is the daughter of Henrie and Lisa Miler, of Cedar City; granddaughter of Robert and Vivian Williams, and Betty Miller, Salina; Henrie L. Miler, Denver, CO, and great granddaughter of Louella Long, Salina. Help needed for summer - Torey Mark Johnson, 3 Torey Mark Johnson Johnson, 3, Shelley, Idaho, died May 18, 1990 at the home of his grandparents in Idaho Falls, Idaho, of pneumonia. He was bom Dccemba 30, 1986, in Richfield, to Mark Lloyd and Julie Ann Peterson Johnson. He had lived in Richfield, Idaho Falls and Shelley, and had attended the Child Development Center for one year. Survivors include his father, Mark Lloyd Johnson, Idaho Falls; mother, Julie Nielson, Shelley; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Peterson, Idaho Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Burke Johnson, Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Nielson, Shelley; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, Aurora; Ora Choules, Salt Lake City. Services were held Monday, in ts, B. Anderson, 18 the Wood Chapel of the Pines in SHelley, with Bishop BoydGrover officiating. Jackie Reynolds played prelude and postlude music; Carlos Nielson offered the invocation, and Cora Lee Wilson gave a sketch of his life. Sherile Sorenson gave a poem. Sevia and well known resident, county Utah entertainer and teacher, died May 19, 1990 in Salt Lake City. She was bom June 25, 1921 in Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3 1 , at 1 p.m. in the Nielson Bigler. She married Carl Frederic DiFiore May 16, 1943. He died. She graduated from Dixie and Southern Utah State University. She taught music in the Sevier county area, and in several local schools.
