Show TheSunNews. Wed.. May 10. 1989 8 It's Mother's Day, May 10 Secrets of Success Right from the beginning of time, from the beginning of recorded history, people have attempted to make sense out of their existence. Rules have been developed, guidelines have been presented, and philosophies have been defined. Now while all of these have had some merit and have filled a need, they dont compare with the simplicity and practicality of twelve steps I would like to share with you. To understand these rules need a college degree; dont you you dont need to be a member of a group. You simply need to read and use them. Im not sure who wrote them, but whoever it was should get the Nobel Peace Prize because of the potential these rules could have on society. If it belongs to someone else and you want it...get permission. If you borrow it... return it. if you use it...take care of it. If you break it... repair it. If you cant fix iL.xall someone who can. If you mess it up.. .clean it up. ones If it will brighten some- day...say it. My advice is to put this on the refrigerator door where you can see it and use it daily as a positive reminder. We all need a little something, and this seems to be one of the least painful ways to give life just the right color. If you open it...closc it. lf you turn it on...lum it off. Utah is no place to commit fraud SAYS BETTER BUSINESSS BUREAU Utah is the wrong place to live if you intend to successfully commit unemployment insurance fraud. In a recent case, a SallLake woman was book into jail for attempting to file her claim for unemployment insurance benefits after he had returned to work. The scheme involved a man who and the portrayed her use of stolen identification. This and 400 other cases have been successfully prosecuted over the past five years. Utah Job Service uses several methods of rt detecting fraud, including, computer crossmatch and detection systems, regular random audits, and public tips. In addition, the penalty for committing fraud in Utah is higher than surrounding states and includes a criminal and admin- state-of-the-a- istrative penalty in addition to a jail sentence. The court cases are successfully managed by local county attorneys or by the US Attorneys Office. In the past five years, Job Service has not lost one of the 400 cases filed in criminal court. Utah also has an agreement with surrounding states which prevents people from avoiding prosecution by leaving the state. Evan Mattinson, who supervises the activities of the fraud prevention and control section of Job Service indicate he and his staff have found more than $9,427,000 over the past five years. He states, While we believe most claimants are honest, we will continue to vigorously seek out and prosecute those who are not. payments, excluding tood stamps. Although never a mother herself, Jarvis believed that sons and daughters should pay tribute to their mothers at least once a year. The mothers services spread to more churches the following year. In 1912, a Mothers Day International Association was founded to encourage greater observance of this special day. This led the Congress in 1914 to designate the second S unday in May as Mothers Day . In the same year.
