Show Sevier County The Sevier County 4H Contest art just around the corner. County contest will be held June 4th and 5th, and will Include such areas aa Meal Preparation, Style Revue, Demonstrations, Public 8peaking, Horse Judging, Shooting fyarta. Talent and more. All 4 Hera are encouraged to participate. To help 4 hers prepare for these conteau a county practice seaaion has been set for 2 p.m. May 30th. This practice session will give members a chance to be pro judged and critiqued. The Advisory Council felt that more participanu would be encouraged to be In the conteau, through this event. The Fifth Annual IH Fitting and Showmanship Livestock Exposition will be held June at the BYU Ellsworth Livestock and MeaU Center. On the evening of June 5, the Sevier County will have a Talent Revue, Shower ua with Talent at the Richfield Tabernacle. Numbers will include dancing, tinging, clogging, piano and more. Everyone ie invited to come and watch these outstanding youth perform. All 4h members who are planning oo participating need to fill out an entry form. A ONE AND A TWO: The North Sevier Middle and Elementary Band and Chorus presented their annual Spring concert last week, at the Middle School Auditorium. Students had been working all year to prepare for this special event. Keith Lawson is their director. School This year's Southern Uuh Teen Conservation Camp will be held June at Gooseberry cabins. Conservation camp will teach such subjecU as range, wildlife, forestry, shooting sports, canoeing, and more. Camp activities will include archery, small bore rifles 18-1- and shotgun shooting, hiking, study, films, learning, and great fun. The camp is for 14 to 19 years of age. Congratulations to all the girls on the Team. Summer Games set at SUSC r Industrial Fair at NS High Art An Industrial Art Fair was held at North Sevier High School May 52, 1966. Wayne Hales received a ribbon on his gun for best cabinet Billy Tanner, who made a desk of pecan, and Jeri and Teresa Gates, who made a cedar chest from cedar, received a ribbon for first place. Greg Westbrook, Rob Sheppard and Dawns Warinaki received a 1st place ribbon. Mark Wilson, John Hewitt and Bruce Ivie received 2nd place. Third place winners included Matt Larsen. Jeri Gates, Reporter All star teams from four regions of the state will battle July 4 in the softball competition in the Utah Summer Games. Wade Roberts, of Santa Clara is chairman of the south region which includes Sevier and Sanpete counties. The Games, to be held in Cedar City, are open to Utah residents and include competition in 13 womens sports and 14 mens sports. Medallions of gold, silver and bronze will be awarded in all sports. We intend the Summer Games to be the premier showcase for the athletic talent of Utah amateur said Gerald Sherratt, athletes, chairman. The Games will emphasize an 7th grader, and Brooke, 7th grade, wereTuesday's lucky winners. Deer hunters hunting with archery equipment will get two opportunities to hunt for one buck deer this fall. Archers who purchase a deer archery permit can hunt during the deer archery season, and if unsuccessful, can return to the field during the general deer hunt to fill their tag. One one tag will be issued - the big game or combination license tag. Early reports were misleading, according to DWR officials, and hunters are urged to read the big game proclamation carefully. Two other noteworthy changes archers can now apply for deer -- antlerless control permits and June 8. applications for all draw permits is y An earlier application period for draw permits, one buck for archery hunters and nonresident elk limited area permits top the list of 1986 big game season changes. The Utah Board of Big Game Control set the 1986 hunts in a marathon meeting last week. June 15 - July 8 is set as the application period for deer, elk, antelope and moose draw permits, be-- . allowing hunters more time tween the drawing and when the 'hunts begin. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. GET 2-- NEW BIKES: Brooke Curtis and Ricky Torgerson, students at NS Middle School, won new bikes as part of a year long incentive award. All students who received no 'bad reports' throughout the year were eligible for a drawing for the bikes. Ricky, a WINNER: Wayne Hales' beautiful gun cabinet won All Around' ribbon in last week's Industrial Arts Fair, at North Sevier High.
