On Sunday, March 10th, the Branding Iron Inn was the setting for a family dinner in honor of Sidney Peterson's 93rd birthday. All of Sid and Nellies children were present: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jorgensen and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Taylor, Salina ; Mr. and Mrs. Moylee Peterson, Mrs. Darlene Bjerre-gaarand Mrs. MaRee Peterson, Rose Park; Mrs. Ella Christensen, Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rasmussen, Murray. Darlene baked a lovely angel food cake and they enjoyed ice cream and cake. After an enjoyable visit, the ones from out of town returned home. At Sacrament Meeting on the 10th. Ken and Leslee Nelson were released as Primary teachers. Ken was also released as assistant finance clerk Ken was then sustained as Second Counselor in the Sunday School. Jody Johnson has received his mission call to the Illinois Chicago Mission. He will be leaving the 25th of April. Zeke Susman, son of Boyd and Patty Christensen, was approved to become a Deacon. After church, he was ordained by his grandfather, Whitney Christensen. Kevin Hampton gave a very inspirational report on his mission to the Phillipines. Also visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Miles Anderson were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Anderson and baby. The Redmond Ward Relief Society Birthday Party was held Saturday night. A good crowd enjoyed a turkey dinner and a lovely program. Betty Chidester told some great jokes as she announced the program, which consisted of musical selections by David Peterson, The Young Ladies Chorus, Nathan, Shanna, and Jeoff Anderson. Ann Bosshardt, Amy and Kirsten Chidester and Christy Mickelson did some fast clogging. In Sacrament Meeting March 17, Marcia Bosshardt was released as Mother Education Leader in the Relief Society. Sustained as the new leader was Carla Wilkins. The meeting was a very impressive missionary testimonial for Scott Wilkins. Speakers were Danny, Keri Jo, Cami, Carla, Kendyl and Scott Wilkins with remarks by Bishop Bosshardt.
