Max Sorenson and his son, Ted, kneel BEAR KILLERS by large brown bear, killed by Mr. Sorenson last week in the area between Salina Canyon and Willow Creek. A large brown bear, believed to be a livestock killer, was trapped and shot by Max Soren- son of Salina, rider for the Water Hollow Grazers Association, last week. The bear was trapped below the carcass of a 2- ear-old heifer, killed by the bear earlier in the week. The heifer was the property of Qauyle Hansen. The killer weighed an estimated 400 pounds, and was a female. The trap was set at the head of the West Beaver area. Mr. Sorenson reported this was the second head of livestock taken by bear this year, that had been found. Others may have been killed, but not located, He also reports the bear popu-julation appears to be on the crease in the district. Previous attempts have been made to catch the killers, but this is the first results. A son of the rider, Ted, was with his father at the time the bear was found in the trap and shot. -- st 55' iny- ol Mrs. Cox. rT'' 3ft I BEAR TRAP Pictured is the bear trap enclosure used bear.
