Show The Salina Sun, April 17, 1975, Page 3 April Wedding Plans Former Resident Awarded Internship A former Salina woman has been awarded an internship with Senator Joseph Montoya Mexico) and will be working in Washington, D.C. from April 28th through June 19th. Camille Belliston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angus H. Belliston, of Provo, Utah, is a junior majoring in Public Health and American Indian Studies at Brigham Young University in Provo. Clark Despain & Suan Gibson Making plans for an April 25th wedding in the Salt Lake Temple are Suzan Gibson and Clark L. Despain. The brides parents are Mr. and Mrs. Catherine F. Gibson, of West Bountiful, and the late Keith R. Gibson. Fearon and Isabell Despain, of Axtell, are parents of the groom. Suzan is a 1973 graduate of Viewniont High and has attended Weber State. Clark is a 1968 graduate of Gunnison Valley High and a 1974 graduate of Weber State College, where he received his degree in accounting. He is presently employed with the C.P.A. firm of Schmitt, Hazen, Smith & Co., of Ogden. He has also completed an L.D.S. mission to the California Central Mission. After their honeymoon, they will make their home in Bountiful. Local News Notes Miss Belliston w'as selected from a large number of applicants desiring to participate in the University's Washington Seminar Program. The seminar will consist of the working internship experiences and briefings by congressional offices and government agencies such as the Treasury Department and the Department of Agriculture. The group of approximately 65 interns will be directed by Dr. J. Keith Melville, Professor of Political Science. The seminar is designed to help students from all disciplines learn more about the practical nature of the American political system. Brigham Young, with an enrollment of undergraduate 25.000, is the largest private university in the country. It is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. Miss Belliston's father was former President of First State Bank in Salina and is now employed by Zions First National in Salt Lake City. y HIGHWAY FUNDS cont. from page 1 Juan County, and $5,000 to St. George City under the Pavement Marking Demonstration Program to paint center lines and edge lines on unmarked or improperly marked highways under their jurisdictions. The Commission also programmed $6,000 to Pleasant Grove City and $5,000 to Gunnison City under the Safer Roads Demonstration Program to bring the traffic safety signs m these communities up to the new national standards set forth in The Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices." In other action, the Commission concurred with the recommendations of the Roads Committee of the Utah Association of Counties to increase the amount of Federal Aid Secondary Funds programmed for the following county road projects in order to meet inflating costs. The road from Minersville to Milford in Beaver County was programmed for $265,000, an increase of $70,060. The Price River Bridge south of Wellington in Carbon County was programmed for $151,676, an increase of $84,176. The Fairfield Road in Davis County was programmed for $769,996, an increase in the amount of $253,134. The road from Ferron Creek to the Millsite Reservoir in Emery County was programmed for $230,000, an increase of $69,263. The Johnson Valley Road in Kane County was programmed for $268,132, an increase of $118,132. The Ucolo Road Extension in San Juan County was programmed for $428,393, an increase of $218,393. Huntsvilles 100 South Street and the Patio Springs Road in Weber County was jointly programmed for $403,719, an increase of $206,619. ELLIS RAE JENSEN Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jorgensen were happy to have their family home last weekend. Friday. they served family dinner to Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Stewart and family, of Venice, Mr. and Mrs. Royce Jorgensen and family, of Bountiful, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bastian and family, of St. George. Mrs. Marlene Crane is in the Gunnison Valley Hospital suffering from a broken leg. She fell while helping out at the milking barn on the farm. She will be convalescing at home soon. Get better quick. Kent and Maurine Jeffery were in Salt Lake last Saturday on business. They did some shopping and also visited with Stan Jetfery.
