President Reports Legion Post Sets Primary Kiddies Party Today On Highlights Of National Convention Membership Drive AssociSalina November 4 To 18 lues. eadif The local Post will conduct its Vote Full Slates Offered Voters In Redmond, Salina And Aurora For Municipal Vote Political parties in the three North Sevier communities, Sa- lina, Redmond and Aurora, have named full slates to run for municipal office next Tuesday, November 3rd. Enthusiasm does not appear to be at the peak it should be, but it is hoped the trend will change before Tues- and a record vote will be recorded. Polls in the three communities will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., giving all working groups ample time to cast their ballots. Candidates for office include: C ALINA Republican Mayor: John Jorgensen. Councilmen: Dean Nielsen and Lonnie Herron. Democratic Mayor: B. K. Tuft. Councilmen: Warren Crane and Dail Prows. Republican Town President: Merlin Ash- - man- - Board of Trustees: LaMar shardt and Willis Poulson. Democratic Town President: Peter - Bos- - Wil- - galina SeCOnd Ward Special Sunday Program Sunday evening, beginning at p.m., the Salina Second Ward will feature a special program by the ladies chorus from Manti. Voices will be heard in sacred music solos, duets and quartetts, as well as readings. The public is invited to at- tend and hear this outstanding program. Bi-Sta- ke Halloween Dance The North Sevier Stake and Gunnison Stake M.I.A. organizations will sponsor a Halloween dance, October 31st in the Youth Center at Redmond. The dance will begin at 8:30 p.m., and a floor show will be presented during the evening. Candied pieSi gpudnuts and hot cocoa will be available to the dancers. Nord, Layton deer hunter, who was found dead by his father at 9 a.m. October 21st in the Meadow Gulch area of Sa- ijna Canyon. The event is sponsored by the officers and teachers, and is given each year to secure adequate funds for the years Primary supplies and other necessities. A 10c entrance fee is charged each person, and when inside, there will be hot chiliburgers, rice balls, home made candy, and many other delicacies on sale. A fishing pond will give the kiddies many surprises. Dancing will be arranged as an amusing pastime. Everyone Mrs. Ernel Jensen has return- where she at- tended the Adult Extension Training School. The extension course was given in Home Economics, and was held at the Agricultural College. Three representatives from Sevier County attended the school. They were Mrs. Jensen of Salina; Mrs. Evan Jensen of Richfield, and Mrs. Urban Stewart of Monroe. County Agent, Lee Guymon, was in charge of arrangements, and later he wijl announce dates for special schools in the county, at which the ladies will preside in their respective communities, The ladies who attended the Womans Training School, were selected by the Stake Relief Society presidents, Mrs. Merrill Thompson of Salina; Mrs. Wil- ford Ashby f Richfield; Mrs. Heber Christiansen of Central, and Mrs. Grant Ogden, Farm Bureau Auxiliary president, of Richfield, ed from Logan, Sevier Leaders To Attend U.S.A.C. Recently returning from the National Convention, held at Kansas City, President Johnson states he was much impressed by the talks given by President Eisenhower, Secretary of Agri-so- n culture, Ezra Benson, and Sec- retary of Health and Education, Alvida Cobb Hobby.
