Sidney Peterson celebrated his birthday Saturday, March 6th. The families met Sunday at the Oak Crest Inn in Spanish Fork. There were 14 present: Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Moylee Peterson, Salt Lake: Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Jorgensen and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Taylor, Salina; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rasmussen, Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Dell Christensen. Magna; and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morley, Kaysville. They all had a good time. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Ashman and family. Salt Lake, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Ashman. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hansen and baby, Sue Johnson, Eliza Johnson, Salt Lake, came for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. UDell Johnson, Sue, and Eliza put on the Spiritual Presentation in Testimony Meeting Sunday morning. Two babies were named in Testimony Meeting. The baby son of Alien and Louise Jensen was named Jared Jay by his father. His Mr. and Mrs. Earl Spencer, of Salt Lake, were here for the occasion. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Jay Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Spencer. The baby of Steven and Lora Lee Jensen was named Shelley Joy. Allen Jensen named her. Mr. and Mrs. June Powell, Richfield, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jensen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Barker and family. Mr. and Mrs. Veryl Kesler. Christine Winters, Neal Jensen and son, Stevie, Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jensen and family, and Hal Hales, Rewho came for the dmond, occasion, were dinner guests of Mrs. Vontess Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hales and family. Bountiful, brought her father, Hilton Nelson, home. He was staying with them after his surgery and release from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hales went to Provo Friday evening and saw a show by the Good Time Co. of B.Y.U. Their son, Calvin, is a member of the company and performed. He came home with them for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bretz and family moved to Salina. They sold their mobile home to John and Roxanne Johnson, who moved into it this week. Mrs. Rulon (Betty) Miller and Mrs. Mary Ashby, of Glenwood, went to Logan Tuesday, March 2nd, and met other delegates from the state. They all traveled to Helena, Montana for a Western Regional Forum, in part by J.C. sponsored Penney Co. They attended meetings, banquets and socials. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Jensen, and Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Bosshardt went to Phoenix, Arizona Thursday to Monday. Smith, Director of Administration the Veterans Regional Office in Salt Lake City, reminds veterans, their dependents, or survivors that much of their business with the Veterans Administration may be conducted by telephone. For many years, most claim- ants sought information in person and if the claimant was too far from the Salt Lake City Regional Office to travel, then they sought assistance by letter. During the past few years, Mrs. Wendall Rasmussen and Mrs. Velma Webb went to Provo Tuesday to keep a medical appointment for Mrs. Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Roberts are parents of a baby girl born February 29, 1976 at the Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield. Mrs. Alvretta Draper was very happy to greet so many relatives and friends at her open house Saturday for her 90th birthday. Her family had dinner before at the Legion Hall. Several guests from as far away as Canada and California attended the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. John (Carol) R. Jensen and sons, Terry and Stephen, from Salt Lake City, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernel Jensen last weekend. Fishlake Nat. Forest adds employees Two Forest Service employees have recently transferred to the Fishlake National Forest. Larry Gass has transferred from the Fillmore Ranger District, Fishlake National Forest, where he was the District Forester, to the Fishlake Loa Ranger Dis- trict. Mr. Gass started work March on the Loa District as the District Range Conservationist. He has been employed by the Fishlake National Forest since 1970. Prior to coming to the Fishlake, Mr. Gass had been a Range Conservationist on the Dixie National Forest since 1959. He, his wife, Coleen, and their four children plan to make Loa their new home. Don Okerlund will transfer to the Loa Ranger District as the new Recreational Forester, on March 8, 1976. He has been a Forester on the Manti-LaSNational Forest since 1970, serving as a Hydrologist on that Forests Ferron Ranger District for the past 1 Vi years. Prior to that, he had worked, since 1969, for the Fishlake National Forest as a summer Forestry Technician. Mr. Okerlund, his wife, and two children will settle in the Loa area. Raquel Allred and Larry Hudson were given recognition February 20th by they Fishlake National Forest. Mrs. Allred, Clerk-Typiin the Forest Supervisor's Office, received a cash award for superior performance in her job. She has 1, 1976. , been an employee Recently elected Utah American Party State Chairman, Hal Massey, spoke out on the present status of the Party, in Richfield last night, at a meeting to replace him as Sevier County Chairman. Massey said that, The A.P. has recently passed through a period of great trial which featured defections and attempts to destroy the party movement. The reason, he conjectured, was the great threat the A.P. poses to the other two established national parties. The Deseret Industries will make a drive for old clothes, shoes, and articles. They will be picked up Saturday, March 13th. at 10 o'clock and should be left at the gateway of your home. The Ward will hold a fund raising banquet Thursday evening at 7 P.M. This is donation, the money to be used for the chapel improvements. A bicentennial program will follow dinner.
