Thuressa has lived her entire life in Salina, always enjoying the friendly atmosphere of our lovely city and all of her friends and neighbors. As a young lady, she waited tables at the White House Hotel, where the Bank and Christensens Dept. Store now stand. Later in her life, she helped Ruby Peterson by waiting tables for her when she entertained the Lions Club and other functions. Since she is unable to get around so well, she is thoughtful and concerned for people and makes many phone calls to inquire about their health. In spite of her afflictions, she can still be seen walking to town and other places. She is a very agile and ambitious lady. The welcome mat is always out at her home. No matter how many come to see her, they are all greeted with open arms and she always manages to find food to prepare a delicious meal. Many sounds of laughter have echoed through the walls of her home. Where Thuressa is, there is joy and lightheartedness. Thuressa has always loved Relief Society and was a visiting teacher for years. She was in charge of flowers for funerals for years, and she has seldom missed a funeral unless she was ill and could not attend. She is a wonderful little lady.
