Mr. and Mrs. Buddy (Man) Bastian and son. Carl, of Rov. visited last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Larsen. Last Friday. Mrs. Dale Prows, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rasmussen and their five children, of Japan, arrived in Salina and will visit lor two weeks with Kennard and 1ola and other relatives in our area. Sam and Idomia Jorgensen spent Saturday and Sundav. August 3rd and 4th in kanab visiting with Earl and Sheila Bastian and their gtandson. Brian, and new little granddaughter. Wendy. Tuesday. August 6th, was an enjoyable day for Nellie Hatch and Myrt Shepherd, when they motored to Heber City. Nellie took 12 of her 15 grandchildren for a ride on the Heber Creeper. Quay Herbert underwent surgery in the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo Monday, August 12th. His friends wish him well and a speedy recovery. Shelley Hatch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Hatch, of Salt Lake, visited last week and this week with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hatch, in Salina, and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Mecham, in Axtell. Last week, Mrs. Dora Gates, Doralene Gates and daughter, Susan. Ruby Gates and children went to St. George, where they attended a personal shower for Penny, the future bride of Scott Gates. Dora traveled on to Las Vegas with Boyd and Kathy and family, visited with Thurland and Elna Hampton and family and returned from St. George to Salina with her other daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Morwood. Bobby and her sons, Rick and Chad, visited in Salina with her mother last week. Thurland. Elna and daughters. Robin and Judy, of Las Vegas, stopped to see Dora on their way to Fish Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Hampton and three sons went to Fish Lake also. Virgie Nielsen spent from last Sunday. August 4th, to Thursday, August 8th, in Salt Lake City. She spent her time with her sister, Thelma Okerlund in the L.D.S. Hospital, where Dent was operated on Monday, August 5th. Thelma and Virgie spent those nights with Ronald and Jerrie Hatch and family in Granger. Virgie was happy to report that both Dent and Bert are feeling better. Mrs. Ted (Trudy) Sorensen and daughters. Mindi and Lana, of Moab, visited last week with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Arlon Nielsen. Ted joined her on the weekend, and they visited with Trudy's parents and with Ted's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Max Sorensen. Bill and Virgie Nielsen and Lloyd and Nellie Hatch are happy grandparents this week, as they are enjoying three of their grandchildren, Valarie, Dale and Jodie Hatch, of Granger. Bruce and Deanna Beach and sons, of West Jordan, spent the weekend visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Beach, in Salina, and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Anderson, in Koosharem. Nord and Pat Sorensen, of Lake Salt City, spent last Tuesday and Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Max Sorensen. Their daughters, Marlisia and Natalie, stayed with their grandparents while their parents went on a short trip. i V A 1 Penn) Rae Nelson Mr. and Mrs. James Mark Nelson, of Escalante, Utah, are happy to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter. Penny Rae Nelson, to Scott Alvin Gates, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Gates, Salina. Miss Nelson graduated from Escalante High School in 1973. Mr. Gates graduated from North Sevier High School in 1969 and attended Snow College. He served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfurt, West Germany. Bobbie Lee, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Young, received her name and a blessing in Fast and Testimony Meeting in the Salina Third Ward Sunday, August 4th. Her grandfather, Sid, named her. Visiting the family and attending the meeting with them were Terry and Brenda Torgerson; Bob's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Young, his brothers, Ronnie and Von. and his sister, Luanna, all of Mvton. Miss Kennedy graduated from North Sevier High School and attended Snow College in Ephraim. Mr. Frischknecht graduated from Manti High and attended Provo Tech. He served an L.D.S.
