Friends in Salina were happy Monday evening, October 23, when Mr. and Mrs. Raymon ' Carling, of Paris, Idaho, and sons, Ty and Jeron, visited them Raymon was the Assistant Ranger for the Fish Lake National Forest and lived in Salina before his transfer. Our mountains entice our former residents, relatives and friends to try their luck at deer hunting. Visiting Delbert and Fern Peterson and enjoying the hunt were their sons, Boyd and Lynford Peterson, Norman Johnson and two little boys, of Flagstaff, Arizona, Kent Peterson, Gary Peterson, Morris Sorensen, Ralph Johnson, Bert Fenn, Don Peterson, Larry Peterson and Karry Peterson. Sid and Lois Torgersen are always happy to have family members and friends visit them. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Shirlene) Rogers, of Granada Hills, California, and family were here from Thursday prior to the deer hunt to Monday, the , . 23rd. mother, Mrs. Joyce Ferguson. From China Lake, California, are Mr. and Mrs. Mark Riches, who are staying with Dan and Alice. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Heath, w, of Salt Lake City, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Rue Heath. Bruce, De Anna and four little boys, Barry, Jeffery, Jody and Jeremy, of West Jordan, visited three days with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Beach in Salina and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Anderson, in Koosharem. Mr. and Mrs. Chad Herbert were happy to have their family home for the elk hunt and also to hunt deer the first weekend. Laurence, Jack Ken and Mrs. Dale Chappell, of Tacoma, Washington, visit with them for a week. They were here because of the death of Dales mother. Visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Lau, enroute to a base in Clovis, New Mexico, was their son, SSgt. and Mrs. Alvie E. Lau and their four children, Steven, Robert, Richard and Rachell. Tney have spent the last five years in Anchorage, Alaska. P. A'. Pettit,' of Bakersfield,1 California, is visiting with Mrs. Hazel Goodman. She will go back to California with him when he goes. Dan and Alice Osborne, of Garden Grove, California, are spending some time in Salina. Briggs and Paulette Shepherd and their children went over to help him celebrate. Mrs. Clara Colby was happy to have some of her family home for the weekend. Her son and daughter-in-laKay, Marva and their family, of Granger, and her granddaughter, Dianna Herbert and her two children, of Granger, visited with her. Family dinners are special and the Lee on Christensen home was the setting for one Sunday. Lee and Pamela Jeffs and their daughter, Jennie Lin, of Ogden, Gaylen and Marleah Holdaway and their little son, Chris, grandmother, Juventa Mickelsen, of Salina, and grandmother, Jenny Huff, of Draper, all made the family complete. Lee and Pamela and Mrs. Huff spent the weekend with Leeon and Virginia and Gaylan and Marleah are spending two weeks visiting with her parents and with Gaylans folks, Royal and Bernice Holdaway. -- Mrs. Vera Anderson returned this week from California. She spent two weeks with her daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thomas in San Pedro and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jensen and family, El Centro. Leon has been transferred to Portland, Oregon, and the family moved while Mrs. Anderson was with them. The Relief Society had a quilting Tuesday. Dinner was served to 24 by Olga Larsen, Una Hampton and Ella Lee Lund. Arnelda Poulson gave the Homemaking lesson to 39 in the afternoon. Variety Club met Thursday evening at Rula Picketts. She Mr. and Mrs. Preston Pickett had as guests Faye Hampton, Janett Hales, Doris Christensen and Vicki Leavitt. Rook prizes went to Doris Christensen and Maurine Hales. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pickett and family, St. George, and and baby, Salt Lake, came for the weekend at Mr. and Mrs. Bronzell Pickett.
