Show Thursday, October 26, 1972 Paqe Federal-Stat- e NEWS II.S.II.S. Drent Jensen-Rcporte- TtetM Livestock Market Hem r Vickie Nielsen Producers Salina Auction ' Well, even though it rained and was cloudy all week for the deer hunt, it was bright and gay in the halls of North Sevier. On Wednesday, we had a fine Boys and Girls League meeting, in which we had Bud Camp, Keith Barrett and Smith Peterson explain about the laws, cleaning the deer and littering during deer hunt. It was a great meeting and it got everybody excited about the game Thursday with Duchesne. It was Wolf weather for the game, as it rained and the field was full of mud. Tie Wolves came out ready for anything and wasted no time in getting covered with mud. It was defense and a matter of who could keep hold of the slippery pigskin. As there was no score up until 19 seconds left in the first half. Then Dirk Christensen, with perfect protection from the line, fired a perfect 40 yard pass to Scott Johnson, whocar-rie- d a defender the remaining five yards for the score. The Wolves slipped up on the conversion and led 6 to 0 at the half. During halftim e, the fans were treated to a fine program as first the 9th grade Drill Team, performed, and then the Senior High Drill Team topped it off . They both did great jobs, considering the rainy and slippery conditions. As the second half started, the field was even more juicy. Even though the Wolves had drives going, they couldnt keep a hold of the pigskin. The same went for Duchesne. Defense controlled the second half, mainly because the mud was so slick, it made it hard to stay on your feet for more than five yards. This type of baligam lasted all the second half with no score. The final was another weather victory for North Sevier, 6 to 0 over a new team from Duchesne. The Wolves then kept the several good mood going as Friday was Red Shirt Day and even though of the students only showed up for the half of day, all you could see was red shirts Well, thats about all for this week, except for a big deer story, but that would take too long and make too many of you feel bad. one-thi- rd Free Calls Clairified VA Toll it was announced that veterans and their dependents would be as close to the Recently, Veterans Administration Re- gional Office in Salt Lake City as their telephone. There no charge for this call. For example, veterans and their dependents south of Provo, such as Spanish Fork, Nephi and Cedar City, would probably find that it is more economical to dial the Veterans Administration at the Provo number than it would be to dial directly to is Salt Lake City. However, those callers south of the immediate Provo area will still have to pay a toll charge. Mr. Smith wanted to clarify the fact that toll-frdialing is not available statewide.
