We were also quite happy with the effort of Brad Gardner, a jayvee moving up to replace weekend. And Tuesday night, the Hive guys downed visiting Skyline, in a dual meet on the Bee mat. Pleasant Grove captured the think were on our way. The kids know they can win now and were anxious to start our region action, the coach add-e- Brighton Classic this past 45-1- Brighton title, amassing 157 points, with Hillcrest taking second place on the strength of a 1292-poin- t performance. The Bees scored 115 points, paced by three wrestlers who placed first in their respective Garry Norweight classes man (98), Todd Williams (112) and Doug Child (145). Others were Viewmont, 97'2; Brighton, 79i2; Bingham, 64: Jordan, 30; and Cyprus, 262. Darryl Peterson of Pleasant Grove had the most pins and Rick Thompson, Brighton, was named most valuable wrestler. Coach Ron Wolff after experiencing some frustration and displeasure at Box Elders most recently dual meet, was pleased at Brighton. Happy With Results We are happy with the results of the tournament. We surprised many teams and shocked others. It is the best effort weve gotten since the tournament at Grand Junction (in which the Bees placed third). think we can come off this experience and begin the process of developing another fine wrestling team. The only difference between this team and the last four weve had (all region champions) is that they havent begun to believe in themselves yet. We are still in the process of discovering who our starters are, attempting to find out who wants to wrestle bad enough to be a champion. He is Todd Williams, junior who already has two Region One titles to his credit. He was nominated for the weekly award after placing first in the Brighton Classic last week. In the process, he beat two wrestlers who placed fourth state tourneys and another and in last years competitor who was undefeated going into the classic. And in his two most recent dual matches, he has won via pin. Williams is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Williams, 230 North Fourth West, Brigham City.
