CITY BRIGHAM OF THE RATES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BRIGHAM CITY AS FOLLOWS: 6 of the Brigham City Code is hereby Section 1. That Section 28-1- 28-1- amended to read as follows: Section Water Rates - To Be Charged With Sewer Charges. All water supplied to the inhabitants of Brigham City shall be through water meters, unless otherwise directed by the City Council, and the following rates shall apply to all water so metered: 1. For the first 100,000 gallons per month - 23-per 1000 gallons 2. For the next 100,000 gallons per month - 20.8 per 1000 gallons 3. For the next 300,000 gallons per month - 17.4' per 1000 gallons 4. For the next 500,000 gallons per month - 13-per 1000 gallons 28-1- 5. For all water used in excess of 1,000,000 gallons per month 1 1.6' per 1000 gallons The minimum monthly charge for water supplied shall be as -- follows: For V inch service, which will entitle the consumer 2.89 to use up to and including 13,000 gallons For 1 - inch service, which will entitle the consumer 4.33 to use up to and including 19,000 gallons inch service, which will entitle the consumer For 8.67 to use up to and including 38,000 gallons For 2 inch service, which will entitle the consumer to use up to and including 60,000 gallons For 3 inch service, which will entitle the consumer 25.99 to use up to and including 1 14,000 gallons For 4 inch service, which will entitle the consumer to use up to and including 198,000 gallons For 6 inch service, which will entitle the consumer 86.63 to use up to and including 447,000 gallons For 8 inch service, which will entitle the consumer 173-2to use up to and including 1,070,000 gallons All rates herein provided for shall be charged and combined with the charges provided for in Chapter 22 as amended and the total thereof shall constitute one charge. If any part of said account for either sewer or water becomes delinquent as in these revised ordinances provided, the water service shall be discontinued by the City until all delinquencies have been paid in full including the reconnection fee. l'i 13-8- 6 43-3- Section 2. That this ordinance shall immediately, after its adop- tion and approval, be deposited in the office of the City Recorder and recorded and published once in a newspaper published within Brigham City. Section 3. The City Council finds and determines that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health, and safety of the inhabitants of Brigham City and that this ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1977. Cosgrove City Recorder -- s- - RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Brigham City has provided Refuse Collection Services to residents and businesses within the corporate limits of the City under regulations heretofore adopted and WHEREAS, it is desirable that the Refuse Collection Services so far as is reasonably possible should be economically self sustaining: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BRIGHAM, CITY, UTAH, at regular meeting with a full quorum present and voting, in favor thereof, that Refuse Collection Fees be established, billed with the water bill and fixed as follows to wit: Section 1. Dwelling Units. For each Dwelling Unit, whether separate home, basement apartment, or other multiplex dwelling unit and all churches, SI. 50 per month for one pickup per week. Section 2. Application: This schedule is for alternating current service supplied at approximately 120 or 240 volts through one kilowatt hour meter at a single point of delivery for all electric service required on the premises for residential purposes. When conditions are such that service is supplied through one meter to more than one dwelling or apartment unit, the charge for such service will be computed by multiplying the number of kwh in each block and the minimum charges by the maximum number of dwelling or apartment units that may be served. Where a portion of a dwelling is used regularly for business, professional or other gainful purposes, the premises will be classified as nonresidential and the appropriate schedule applied. All installations of neon, fluorescent, mercury vapor lamps or tubes, or other types of gaseous lamps, or other devices having low power factor characteristics, installed or generally rearranged after the effective date of this Schedule will be supplied hereunder only if the overall power factor (including the auxiliaries) of such units or group of units is 85 percent lagging or higher. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Section the Revised Ordinances of of Brigham City, Utah 1957 provides for the changing and alteration from time to time by Resolution of the City Council, of the classifications, rates, charges and discounts of electric rates in Brigham City, Utah; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after thorough study and consideration, finds and determines that it is necessary and to the best interests of Brigham City Corporation and the inhabitants thereof, that said electric rates, charges, classifications and discounts be changed and-o- r discontinued as hereinafter set forth; NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT This Schedule is for alternating current electric service supplied at approximately 120 or volts through one kilowatt-hou- r meter at a single point of delivery for all residential purposes to individual private 240 dwellings and individually metered apartments when the customer regularly uses electric energy for all residential service requirements, including but not limited to lighting, cooking, appliance operation, water heating, laundry and drying, air conditioning, and the heating of all dwelling space in the home. This Schedule is only available when the heating installation conforms to the specifications for space heating below. When conditions are such that service is supplied through one meter to more than one dwelling or apartment unit, the charge for such service will be computed by multiplying the number of kwh in each block and the minimum charges by the maximum number of dwelling or apartment units that may be served. MONTHLY BILL: Rate: 6.32 cents per kwh for the first 60 kwh 2.80 cents per kwh for 340 kwh 1.87 cents per kwh the next all ad- ditional kwh Minimum: 1.78 for single-phas- e 5.36 for three-phas- e service service SPECIFICATION FOR WATER HEATING SERVICE: Water heaters served hereun- der shall be insulated storage, single or two-untype of construction approved by the City, the heating units of which shall be and controlled by separate thermostats. In a single-uni- t heater, the unit shall be placed to heat the entire tank. In a two-unheater the upper unit and thermostat shall be located so as to heat not more than the upper of the tank; the lower unit and thermostat shall be located so as to heat the entire tank. The rating of any single heating unit shall not exceed 4500 watts. Thermostats shall be permanently connected so that both heating units cannot operate at the same time except where the total installed heater capcity does not exceed 4500 watts. Service will be supplied for a period of not less than seventeen hours per day, suchhours to be selected by the City. The City may furnish, install, and maintain suitable time switch or other device for controlling the hours of service. The water heater shall be the only means of supplying hot water requirements. it Voltage Discount: Where Customer takes service from Citys available lines of 2300 volts or higher and provides and maintains all transformers and other necessary equipment, the voltage discount based on measured demand will be: 22 cents per kw for first 100 kw of Demand, and 11 cents per kw for all additional kws of Demand Net: Minimum $1.45 plus 1.45 for each kw of Demand over 5 kw, but not less than $4.34 for three phase service. Demand : The k w as shown by or computed from the readings of Citys Demand meter, for the 15 minute period of Customers greatest use during the month, determined to the nearest kw.
