The Logan club brought two prepared speeches and was in Writer cotdhes up odd the news I It seems it's about time to get this little remote community back in the news! The green fields and grazing areas are certainly looking great compared to the terrible drought conditions of six weeks ago. Periodic rainstorms have really saved the day. Young people from Park Valley joined the Grouse Creek M I .A. Tuesday for an evening of entertainment. There were enough young folks to make two teams for softball games from each community. I received reports that the evening was very enjoyable and that Park Valley won the games. Mrs. Angie Adams of Logan, who has recently been suffering from ill health, has been here visiting with her daughter and Irma and Reese Warburton, and family. Irmass brother, Vern Adams, also came Saturday and took his mother to Buhl, Idaho for a visit. The Cub Scouts and Webelos were highly entertained at a special event on Wednesday at son-in-la- the ward recreational hall. Leaders Judy Rae Barnedt and Carol Warburton had made fitprepaiations for a physical ness contest for their scouts, and the boys also participated m a bicycle rodeo. Parents of the boys were special guests as were also Bishop Lyman and Eula Kimber. Fathers were honored at a special full time program on their day Sunday. Honored visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Morris Mitchell of Oakley, Bishop and Mrs. Rex Jeratt and children of Burley, Idaho. Rhea and Archie Tayn enjoyed watching the speed boat races in Burley Saturday. There they met their daughter, Gail Berchtold and family of Ogden. After returning home to spend Fathers day together, two of the boys, Jerry and Jeff, decided to stay for a couple of weeks with their grandparents. Doug Stauffer was installed as a new member in the Box Elder club. Prepared speeches were by Clarence Stukki, Doug Buck and Harold Page. Best Speech was awarded to Harold Page, best Table Topics to Conrad Peterson, and best Evaluator went to Conrad Pe Toastmastors hold meeting with Logan Brigham City, Utah 1977 June 23, Thursday, BOX ELDER JOURNAL, house while enjoying a visit. Richard and Joan Kimber of Brigham divided their time for Fathers day. Richard and son, Terry, came to spend the day with Ivan and Raida Kimber. Joan and daughter, Jodi, drove to Wells, Nev. to be with her father. Terry Kimber will be here for the summer to help his grandfather. Saturday was a special day for Sarah and Wallace of Montello, Nev. This was their golden wedding anniversary and they were honored at a celebration at the ward hall. Bet-terid- Their children came from east and west to be with their parents and to sponsor the entertainment. Wallace and Sarah were both born and reared in Grouse Creek, and many relatives and friends drove down to celebrate with them. The couples family consists of Mrs. Marva Bias of Tracy, Calif.; Darwin Betteridge Busy Painting Working away on the home of of California; Vernon BetteridMrs. Hattie Tanner are her ge from Georgia; Mrs. Janice of Rodney, also of California; daughter and Ogden. Fern and Jack Hutchins Owen Betteridge of Winnemuc-ca- , have been busily painting the Nev.; Mrs. Vivian King from San Diego. They also have 14 grandchildren and two Many brothers and sisters of the couple attended the reception and also, Mrs. Louie Roberts, Sarah's mother. Mrs. Joy Tracy brought her mother, Mrs. Louie Roberts, over from Declo, Idaho, to attend the wedding reception. They were joined by Colleen Teeter of Layton to .spend an evening here at Aunt Louies home. Ray and Wilda Kimber were happy to have all members of their family home on Sunday for son-in-la- w charge of Table Topics. Toastmaster of the evening was Dick Meyer. store and at the post office. Darrell Tanner of Ogden and Rulon Miles of Eden were Friday and Saturday visitors of Herb and Vera Tanner. Spending Fathers day Weekend with her parents, Winifred and Olive Kimber, were Verna and Val Richardson and family of Bountiful. Ann, Brooke and John are spending a week here with their grandparents while there parents, Verna and Val are vacationing at Lake Powell. Tracy Smith of Ogden is also staying with her grandparents the Winfred Kimbers. Mrs. Norma Jean Mecham and children, Susie, Laura and John are here from Montpelier, Idaho. They are planning to spend a week with Melissa and Max Tanner and visit other relatives here. Laraine Tanner was home from Ogden with the Merlin Tanners, Jackie Kimber came from Salt Lake for a weekend with the Jack Kimbers; Steven and Gary Kimber of Ogden spent Fathers day with the Grant Kimbers; Janet Blan-thor- n was also with the Bryan Blanthorns over the weekend. The Thompson family tried their luck at fishing and a cookout on Saturday afternoon. Keith Plowman, Bambi, Le Ann and Blake Thompson of Brigham City were here visiting during the weekend. Tod White of Orem is also a guest of the Thompsons for the summer. Plans have been made by the bishopric for the July 4th celebration. This event will take place here on Saturday, July 2 and will consist of the following.
